Terms of Use
The terms for using svtempleco.org, requesting sevas and making donations online.
Welcome to svtempleco.org, the website of Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple of Colorado ("the Temple", "we", "us"), a non-profit religious organization in Castle Rock, Colorado, recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. By using this website you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
1. Using the website
This website shares information about the Temple's services, sevas, festivals, events and community programs. Please use it lawfully and respectfully, in keeping with the spirit of a place of worship. You agree not to:
- send false, offensive, abusive or unlawful content through our forms, or impersonate another person;
- send advertising, spam or bulk messages through our forms;
- try to break into, overload or disrupt the website, or collect information from it with automated tools beyond normal search-engine indexing;
- use the Temple's name, logo or content to suggest that the Temple endorses you, a product, a cause or an event when it does not.
We may block access or ignore submissions that break these terms.
2. Schedules and information
We work to keep timings, fees, schedules and announcements accurate, but they can change, sometimes at short notice (for example, festival days, priest availability or weather closures). The temple office and our official announcements are the final word. If something matters to your plans, please confirm with the temple office at (303) 660-9555. Panchangam details are provided for convenience; please consult the priests for religious observances.
3. Seva and service requests
Sending the Request a Service or Contact form is a request, not a booking. A seva is confirmed only when the temple manager or office confirms the date, time and priest with you. Services outside the Temple (for example, at your home) depend on priest availability and may involve travel arrangements or additional charges, which the office will explain. Puja samagri (items lists) are a guide; the priests may advise changes.
4. Donations and payments
- Donations are voluntary and support the Temple's religious, cultural, educational and charitable work.
- As a 501(c)(3) organization, the Temple can accept donations that are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Your receipt will state any goods or services you received in return, as IRS rules require (payments for religious services are generally treated as "intangible religious benefits"). Please ask your tax advisor how this applies to you.
- Seva fees and suggested amounts are set by the Temple and may change. "Amount of your choice" means you decide what to give.
- Online payments are processed by PayPal or the Temple's official Clover store at svtempleco.cloveronline.com. Before paying, check that your browser's address bar shows one of these addresses. Their terms also apply to your payment.
- Donations given for a specific purpose (for example, Annadanam or a festival) are used for that purpose where possible. The Temple's Board may direct funds where they are most needed if a purpose can't be fulfilled, in line with the Temple's bylaws and the law.
5. Cancellations and refunds
Donations are generally non-refundable. If you need to cancel or reschedule a seva, or if you were charged in error or more than once, please contact the temple manager at manager@svtempleco.org as soon as possible, with your name, the date and the amount. The Temple will review each request and may offer another date, credit or a refund at its discretion. Refunds are returned to the original payment method.
6. Temple content and sharing
The Temple's name, logo, text, photographs, flyers and designs on this website belong to the Temple or are used with permission. You are welcome to share links, event flyers and announcements to spread the word about temple activities, as long as you don't change them and don't use them commercially. Any other copying, editing or commercial use needs our written permission. Sacred texts, mantras and deity images are shared for devotional use.
If you believe something on the website uses your copyrighted work without permission, email us with the details and we will review it promptly.
7. Photographs at temple events
Photographs and videos taken at public temple events may appear on this website and the Temple's social media. If you would like a photo of yourself or your child removed, email us with a link to it and we will remove it. Please respect any "no photography" areas or instructions at the Temple.
8. Other websites
Links to other websites (such as payment providers, Google Calendar, maps and social media) are provided for convenience. The Temple is not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The website is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will always be available, error-free or free of harmful components. To the fullest extent the law allows, the Temple and its trustees, officers, volunteers and staff are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the website or reliance on its information. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado. We would much rather resolve any concern in conversation, so please contact us first. Any dispute that cannot be resolved that way will be heard in the courts of Douglas County, Colorado.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
